Highlighting Paramount’s expertise in capital works procurement and project management, in June, the WA Department of Education accepted a proposal to document ways for schools to manage their own minor works.
The Department of Education is pursuing a number of significant reforms, including a move to autonomous schools. Compared with the once ‘centralised’ approach, schools now have the ability to decide how to best use funding to maximise outcomes for students and the school community.
This includes an increase in funds made available for minor works, in line with a desire from schools to manage the completion of works more responsively and in ways that meet value-for-money requirements.
Minor works services are currently managed by Building Management and Works (BMW). We look forward to working with the Department of Education, BMW and schools on this important piece of work.
